Chief Homologation Engineer (718)

Core Requirements

• Degree qualified or similar qualification minimum, Masters qualification desirable
• Strong numeracy and literacy
• Good logical reasoning
• Able to translate business plan into individual objectives for staff
• Ability to overcome cultural barriers
• Manages a group of Engineers and / or an acknowledged industry expert in one or more areas, three to five years relevant experience
• A minimum of 10 years automotive experience essential
• Understands roles and needs of different client groups; evidence of working effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve results
• Ensures procedures and quality standards are clearly communicated and actioned
• Takes responsibility for process improvement and communicates this to staff at all levels
• Capable of defining, developing and managing a project autonomously with minimal need for support
• Understanding and expert knowledge of procedures and processes for vehicle certification in the EU and USA
• Understanding of consumer test requirements and procedures

• Responsible for all vehicle/model homologation ensuring all processes and procedures are duly met
• Subject matter expert for EU and USA certification and regulations
• Familiar with the vehicle development timing and deliverable
• Familiar with China homologation Regulation on EV complete vehicle and related component
• Deliver or roll down homologation requirement to system and vehicle level target, together with cross functional team
• Familiar with Homologation processing and duration, and can fit it in master timing
• Conduct the homologation activity according master timing
• Capable of understanding and executing the requirements for recyclability requirements
• Can develop and is familiar with forthcoming legal and consumer landscapes and develop mapping budgets and timing
• Custodian for vehicles COC - documentation and COP for product

• Familiar with CNCAP and ENCAP regulation and test method commercial and passenger vehicles
• Understand the requirements for re-call and other in market process

• This position is hybrid working based in the Coventry office
• Travel to China on a frequent basis will be expected
• Travel with in Europe as part of vehicle certification process will also be a requirement
