Position Description:
- Guiding and coaching team members in self-management and cross-functionality (Emphasize the importance of communication).
- Helping Scrum Teams focus on creating high-value product increments that meet the Definition of Done.
- Helping to remove obstacles to Scrum Team's progress (Managing obstacle board reviews).
- Ensuring that all Scrum events take place and are positive, productive, and kept within the timebox.
- Helping stakeholders understand and enact an empirical approach for complex work (from tools and processes usage perspective, i.e., change management 1-pager population).
- Evolving new ways to bridge between business tools & processes and Agile Ways of Working (WoW).
- Ensuring top-down and bottom-up sync between product groups and vehicle groups for any activity.
- Governing effective Product Goal definition and Product Backlog management.
- Managing the group Product Backlog, ensuring clear and concise Product Backlog items which are linked to stories/features/capabilities.
- Facilitating stakeholder collaboration where necessary.
- Preparation of vehicle team QBR memo in conjunction with SPM, Program Chief, and PGLs.
- As a Group Scrum Master, the Scrum Master is a servant leader and coach for the Agile Release Train (ART).
- The GSM's major responsibilities are to facilitate the ART events and processes and assist the teams in delivering value.
- GSM's communicate with stakeholders, escalate impediments, help manage risk, and drive relentless improvement.
- Guide the team on introspection to continually improve agile ways of working.
- Representing impediments to Programme/Vehicle Teams via the Obstacle process (JIRA tickets) - support with escalation in Obstacle Reviews.
As a Group Scrum Master:
- Support the group in obstacle resolution (helping to remove obstacles to Scrum Team's progress).
- Protects the team from outside interference.
- Conscious of Product Owner: Backlog creation & refinement, estimation, roadmap development, and dependency alignment.
- Helping stakeholders understand and enact an empirical approach for complex work (from tools and process usage perspective).
- Assist in driving continuous improvement, transparency, and consistency amongst the teams ensuring clear and concise Product Backlog items which are linked to stories/features/capabilities.
- Ensure that the group members know how to check that stories exist related to their MBIs and how to check the status/timing of them.
- Review performance charts every sprint to pinpoint challenges.
- Contribute to delivery activities for my squad through planning and MBI assessments.
- Promote and solicit timely change requests as required.
- Facilitate Retrospectives (improve team efficiency), Daily Stand-ups, and Sprint Planning/Backlog refinement.
- Ensure the group remains focused on meeting objectives.
- Support/lead resolution of obstacles and align with other squads if necessary.
- Ensure AGILE ceremonies are scheduled.
- Help coordinate showcases and ensure they are on time.
- Prepare meeting materials for Group Sync meetings to ensure effective information flow to team members.
- Support Squad(s) and Group Product Owner to run the BRP and Marketplace sessions effectively, including preparation of presentation materials.
