Position Description:
Vehicle NVH is a key technical department within the product creation process, leading the engineering from concept to customer. Working here, you'll give our vehicles their unique characteristics, ensuring the many aspects of refinement required to achieve the customer expectations for all business programmes. It is all part of creating vehicles that delight customers and set us apart from the competition.

The NVH Attributes Refinement Group encompasses 3 distinct teams; Prevention, Delivery and In-service Performance. Its responsible for strategy, methods, targets, testing, detection and resolution, specifically for the attributes of Squeak & Rattle and Water and Air Ingress across the full vehicle, systems and components. Operating from the very early phase of a vehicle programme, working cross functionally throughout design, development,
manufacturing, launch until end of product life cycle.


You will play a pivotal role within the In-Service Performance Team to enhance the customer satisfaction by delivering vehicles free from abnormal noise (Squeak & Rattle) and water leaks. Your primary role will be to gather facts to make a clear problem definition, then to employe strong negotiation skills to drive problem resolution using 8D and other quality tools. The Performance team is responsible for issue resolutions that can arise internally through manufacturing, Fleet users, Durability and Robustness vehicles and externally through warranty and IQS surveys.

Skills Required:
  • Previous experience of problem solving tools e.g. Root Cause Analysis, 8 Disciplines of problem solving, Hands on Problem solving Be Self-motivated and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to learn new skills quickly (Have a Growth Mind-set)
  • Good knowledge of quality tools (8D, Fish bone, FTA, PDCA, 5Y etc)
Experience Required:
  • Engineering degree or equivalent automotive experience preferred
  • Demonstrable problem solving experience e.g. Root Cause Analysis, 8 Disciplines of problem solving
  • Good knowledge of quality tools (8D, Fish bone, FTA, PDCA, 5Y etc)
  • Ability to analyse large data that translates into next actions
  • Hands on problem solving capability
  • Ability to plan work in 2 weeks sprints, organise work based on priority and deliver against plan
  • Be Self-motivated and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to learn new skills quickly (Have a Growth Mind-set)
  • Demonstrate good negotiation skills to promote issues to next phase of investigation
  • A proactive and personable nature to engage with cross functional areas.
  • Microsoft package elements such Power Point and Excel to a intermediate level
  • Knowledge and understanding of automotive manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to deliver presentations to work groups and senior management
  • A full UK driving license (Pass medical to get a class 3 driving license)
Experience Preferred:
  • Automotive Engineering Degree/ Mechanical Engineering
  • Previous experience of New Model Launch or Vehicle Manufacturing operations
  • Technical knowledge of vehicle engineering related to Squeaks & Rattle or Water Drive and motivation to achieve goals of team and self with minimal supervision
  • Active experience of working to Agile methodologies (JIRA) Experience of working with the following company toolsets; Tableau, AIMs, IQM, Flags
  • A working knowledge of Trim & Final, BIW, sealing systems
  • A working experience of CAD or Digi-buck.
  • Knowledge of material compatibility and joining technologies.
  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety/ risk assessments
