Supplier Quality Management Engineering focuses on planning, organizing, directing, and reporting on supplier provided raw materials, designed/manufactured goods, and packaging materials to ensure they meet or exceed requirements including:
- Verifying and validating that suppliers and/or subcontractors have received engineering, manufacturing, and quality requirements
- Monitoring quality control activities and systems at supplier and subcontractor facilities
- Ensuring programs are in place to improve supplier performance and productivity
- Reviewing and analysing corrective action reports to reduce/eliminate defects. May perform deviation investigations into quality issues.
- Managing large projects or processes with limited oversight from manager.
- Coaching, reviewing and delegating work to lower level professionals.
- Problems faced are difficult and often complex.
